A:TLA We're Friends

"Oh, Ty Lee." Azula stopped her friend as Zuko and Mai left the campfire without them.

"What is it, Azula?" She smiled still feeling smoothed from the fire, "is there something you want to talk about."

"Well kind of." The princess avoided looking her friend in the eye.

"Here, Azula." Ty lee grabbed Azula by her writs and pulled her down to a soft pile sand to sit on. "Tell all about it."

"Thank you, Ty Lee." She blushed a bit, "for everything." She watched as Ty Lee listened to words. Ty Lee paid close attention to each syllable, she did not say 'hmmm' or 'uh huh' like most people. "I never thought I could have so much fun today."

"Are you talking about Chan?"

"No, he's just nothing to me. I'm more happy that you tried to help me than him paying me attention."

"Really, Azula?" Ty Lee was surprised to hear what Azula was telling her. She tightened her grip on the princess's writs.

"Of course, you've always been there for me."

"Mai has been too, we lo-"

"But," Azula cut off her friend, "you have shown me more loyalty than Mai. Plus she could never give me advice on boys, just look at her and Zuzu." Ty Lee's giggle made Azula smile. "You mean a lot to me."

"You mean a lot to me too, Azula." She released Azula's writs in order to trap her in a hug.

"Ty Lee?"

"Yes?"

"I still can't help but feel that you don't quite get what I'm trying to tell you…"

She pulled away from Azula, "Oh, well I'm still all ears." She giggled and then smiled sweetly.

"Oh, Ty Lee." Azula couldn't but smile at her kind yet, ditsy ally. "What I'm trying to say is hard."

"Oh, I see." She continued to smile.

"Ty Lee, I-iiii," She turned away to afraid of rejection to let the words escape.

"Azula?" Ty Lee turned Azula to face her. "Tell me."

"Well, I…I love--"  Her exclaim was cut off by the force of Ty Lee's lips.

"I love you too, Azula."

Azula blushed, "And you couldn't have said something earlier?!"

"hehe, you arejust too cute when you get flustered!" she poked Azula on the nose.

"Taking a cheap shot like that, how uncultured of you!"

"You're just mad you didn't do it first." The two broke out in a fit of giggles. "Maybe next time I'll let you kiss me first."

"What makes you think there'll be a next time?"

"Because," Ty Lee stopped laughing and got serious, "I know you, Azula." The princess blushed and smiled.

"Hey! Ty Lee! Azula!" Mai called out.

"what are you two still doing here?" Zuko and Mai returned hand in hand.

"Why did you two losers walk off without us?" Azula smirked.

"Because we thought our prays were answered and you two were quiet for once."

"Well shows that you don't pay attention." Azula stood up with her hands on her hips.

"So, can we go back Chan's place now or what?" Zuko began to walk away once again.

"Fine." Azula's movement was halted by Ty Lee's hand. "What?" Ty Lee didn't answer as she smiled and fixed Azula's smeared lipstick. "Thanks." She blushed with a smile.

"Hurry up!" Mai shouted once more.

"We're coming!" Ty Lee jumped in front of Azula.

"We're friends, right?" Azula grabbed Ty Lee's braid.

"Of course." She smiled back at Azula, "The best kind of friends."
